just how many bouncy houses can you squeeze into one day?

And so it begins. Weekends full to the brim with commitments. We already had these but somehow brunch with the girls or a day trip down the coast seems less of an effort than two kiddie parties in the same day. We only know like five kids besides our own and somehow two of them had birthday parties on Saturday. I seriously debated attending both. The timing would work out but they were in different cities and Marcus had to meet with a client that morning. I try to be very conscious of over scheduling Abby. She’s small and easily overwhelmed and I think celebrations should be fun. Both parties were for children of close friends and we truly wanted to go to both. So we tried.

And we had a great time at both.

I suppose if you are mindful about the events you choose to attend, things have a way of working out. I will have to remember this.

It was a really hot day and all three of us are wilting lilies in any sort of heat. At one point Abby asked me to carry her from the play area to the food area saying “I want to save my energy for the next party.” Kids are so much wiser than we give them credit for.

On a side note, this is the view from the living room at the second party. The house is in the Berkeley Hills and that is San Francisco in the distance. Not bad, huh?

Happy Monday friends. I hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend.
